Today was the first day of a brand new school year in middle school. I was excited and a little nervous to start this new chapter of my life. As the day went on, I noticed a few interesting things that I want to share with you.
Firstly, our English class was quite different from what I expected. He stressed the need to practice listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills regularly. Secondly, during lunch break, I observed the diverse culture and languages in our school. There were students who were fluent in English, while others spoke different languages from their own countries. It was fascinating to hear snippets of various languages being spoken in the hallways. It made me appreciate the beauty of language diversity and also motivated me to improve my language skills even more.
In the afternoon, we had our first Physical Education class. Our coach encouraged us to participate in various sports and activities to stay fit. He emphasized the importance of teamwork, discipline, and determination in achieving our goals. It was a great reminder that success in any aspect of life requires hard work and perseverance.
Lastly, towards the end of the day, I attended a club fair where different extracurricular activities were showcased. From music clubs to art clubs, there were so many options to choose from. I signed up for a debate club because I want to improve my public speaking and critical thinking skills.
Overall, today was an eye-opening experience. I realized that middle school is not just about academic lessons but also about exploring new interests and building strong friendships. I am excited to see what the future holds and look forward to experiencing many more language nuggets and memorable moments in my middle school journey.
